Not only do we have have extensive real life experience and expertise in the areas that we are called upon to provide expert testimony, but we are also well versed in the expert witness and litigation support process as a whole. We do extensive research to support our testimony, prepare reports, and pride ourselves on our professionalism and preparedness during testimony.

JA Williams, LLC provides Expert Witness and Case Preparation Services in the following areas:

  • Police Policies, Practices and Procedures - Based upon 30 years of municipal, state, federal, and international police experience, we will explain to the Trier of Fact and the jury, relevant police policies, procedures and rules and regulations that govern the operations and activities of police agencies.
  • Arrest, Search and Seizure - Based upon years of experience making both warrantless arrests, arrests, searches and seizures pursuant to judicial warrants, we will demonstrate police mandates for probable cause, for the need to corroborate information and for the need to establish exigent circumstances. We will demonstrate the police standards for complying with the Fourth Amendment and the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
  • Excessive Use of Force - Based upon years of on-the-street experience, we will demonstrate the statutory requirements regarding the use of force, the concept of 'reasonable force,' self defense uses, restraint uses and uses to facilitate searches. We will demonstrate the police training process for use of force situations.
  • Police Misconduct - Based upon Internal Security and Office of Professional Responsibility experiences investigating police misconduct at the county and federal law enforcement levels, we will demonstrate the difference between what police are trained to do and how the training is dismissed by actions of the officer or were appropriate in their application.
  • Wrongful Death - We will demonstrate officers training, operational procedures, and law enforcement officer requirements in handling persons both in and out of custody. We will compare what was required to be done as opposed to what was done.
  • Police Investigations - Calling upon years as a Police Detective and a Federal Investigator, we will demonstrate investigative procedures as taught, and procedures routinely used by on street investigators that are not always within Attorney General Guidelines or were appropriate in their application.
  • Misuse of Firearms - Based on experiences as a Police Academy Firearms Instructor, we will demonstrate what police officers are trained to do as opposed to what actually occurred during the misuse of a firearm or were appropriate in their application.
  • Police Training - Based on seven years experience as the Chief Police Instructor at a regional police academy, four years as a Regional Police Training Supervisor for the US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, and three years as the US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration Chief of International Police Training, as well as experience as an Adjunct Professor for Criminal Justice Studies, we will demonstrate the fundamental duties, obligations, responsibilities, influences, and philosophies inherent in police service.

  • Drug Law Enforcement Training - JA Williams, LLC provides specialized Drug Law Enforcement Training. This training covers such topics as pharmacology of abused drugs, drug identification, investigation, undercover operations, conspiracy law, wiretap use, intelligence gathering, arrest search and seizure, report writing, search and seizure warrant application preparation and concludes with an on-street practical exercise program that allows students to call into action the skills that they have learned during the two-week class.
  • Executive Protection Training - JA Williams, LLC provides specialized training to certify students as personal protective specialists. Course graduates will have the necessary training to function as professional PPS and Security officers. This three-day seminar is taught by certified law enforcement and security professionals and concludes with a practical exercise that allows the students to test their newly learned skills.   • Special Operations Police Training - JA Williams, LLC provides specialized police operations training that is mission essential to special overt and covert projects. All training sessions are conducted by certified state and federal law enforcement officers. Nationally recognized certificates of training are awarded for all seminar and school completions. PPS's are trained in intelligence gathering, threat assessment, executive travel and special event security.
